Oatley, Vigmond traces its roots back to 1974 when Roger Oatley moved to Barrie to open his own office. Roger articled in Toronto. He began to practice law at Borden and Elliot, as it was then known in 1972. He left Toronto in 1973 to establish his own firm. Six months later, at Roger’s invitation, Alan Purser joined him, and the firm name was changed to Oatley, Purser.

During the 80’s and 90’s Roger’s reputation as an outstanding personal injury trial lawyer grew and grew, the firm emerged within the legal profession across Ontario and even Canada as a leader among personal injury law firms.

In 1995 Jim Vigmond joined Roger and Dean Edgell as a partner in the firm. On January 1, 2002 the firm’s name changed to Oatley, Vigmond Personal Injury Lawyers. Today, the lawyers of Oatley, Vigmond are dedicated to assisting personal injury victims. It’s all we do. With a highly trained support staff of over 30 people, Oatley, Vigmond is one of the country’s leading personal injury law firms.

On January 1, 2000 the firm opened an office in Toronto so that it could better serve its clients from the greater Toronto area.
