Thinking of joining our team?
Articling Program
The articling program at Oatley, Vigmond is designed to teach our students the advocacy skills that they will need to become the next generation of personal injury litigators.
We involve our students in all aspects of a personal injury litigation practice. This includes assisting in preparation for trials, mediations and pre-trial conferences. Our students also accompany lawyers to pre-trial conferences, mediations, trials and client meetings. Our students assist in drafting pleadings and motion materials. They also appear regularly on motions before the Superior Court of Justice.
Our students are not shuttled through several practice areas with only a brief time to learn the law in each area. Personal injury law is all we do. A student at Oatley, Vigmond works for five months supporting Roger Oatley's team and five months supporting Jim Vigmond's team. Their work is supervised by a Principal who acts as their mentor. The firm has a collegial atmosphere and students are welcome to approach any of the lawyers with questions or for advice.
In addition to regular informal lunches with the associates, our students are invited to attend all of the firm's social functions including the annual holiday party, boat cruise and staff appreciation dinner.
The articling positions for the 2010-2011 year have been filled.
