Like all the lawyers at Oatley, Vigmond, Roger's practice is dedicated to personal injury and death claims. Roger, his team of lawyers and highly trained staff restrict their practice to the most seriously injured, many of whom are victims of permanent neurotrauma. Lawyers in the personal injury field across Canada regard Roger as one of the country's leading, most successful and effective personal injury lawyers. He was selected by his peers to be included in the 2009 Edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the specialties of Legal Malpractice Law, Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Law.

Lawyers, former clients and health care professionals demonstrate their confidence in Roger by referring their clients and friends to him and his team of specialized lawyers and staff. In 1998, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association established an annual lecture series in Roger's honour to recognize both his outstanding success as a jury lawyer and his contribution to the teaching of trial advocacy to other lawyers.

His colleagues in the personal injury Bar consider him a leader in the development of innovative trial techniques. He has addressed various associations across Canada and in the United States including the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Institute, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Advocates' Society, the British Columbia CLE Society, the Alberta CLE Society, and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He has also been a guest speaker at conferences held by the Justice of the Superior Court and by the Justice of Ontario.

Roger is also a widely published author, with a track record of articles on trial advocacy and personal injury law. He is the author of Canada's only book on jury advocacy, Addressing the Jury, which can be found in the library of most personal injury lawyers in Canada. He is also the co-author of three equally successful books: The Oatley-McLeish Guide to Personal Injury Practice in Motor Vehicle Cases, The Oatley-Mcleish Guide to Brain Injury Litigation and The Oatley-McLeish Guide to Anatomy and Impairment.

Roger has helped thousands of accident victims and their families re-build shattered lives. While Roger and his team do everything in their power to settle their clients' claims as quickly as possible, they are prepared to go to court when necessary. Insurance companies never fail to recognize his success.

Roger is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in Civil Litigation. In 1998 Roger was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a North American organization dedicated to the recognition of excellence in trial lawyers. Roger served as the past President of the Advocates' Society, Ontario's largest organization of trial lawyers and judges.
